NAMGAR Copy Editor

I have to thank Bruce Woodson & Carol Shamonsky for encouraging me to accept the position of Copy Editor for the MGA! magazine back in 2011. It’s been a blast reading the articles and learning more about the NAMGAR family and their MGs.

My husband, Glenn, and I both grew up in Rochester, New York but moved to Florida in 1979. We have two grown daughters. Paula is a veterinarian and lives in Charles Town, WV, with her husband, Scott, and their son, William. Jennifer is a Property Manager and lives with us along with her two beautiful daughters, Laci & Liliana. Our home isn’t complete without our cats, Charlie (short for Charlene), Tawny, and Max and Laci’s bearded dragon, Scar.

Glenn is the owner of Glenn’s MG Repair in St. Petersburg, FL where we repair and restore all the classic British cars. I work in the office keeping track of everything that goes on here.

The flexibility of my job allows me to volunteer at our granddaughters’ school from time to time. In my spare time, I write; children’s picture books, poetry, short stories, inspirational stories, middle grade, and Young Adult novels. I haven’t been published yet, but I’m working on it. I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators and a Critique Group Leader for a local writing group.

I’m very active at St. Paul’s Catholic Church where I teach First Grade Sunday School, am a member of the Partners with Haiti Ministry, and serve as a Eucharistic Minister. I was fortunate to be able to travel to our church’s sister parish in St. Isidore, Haiti, twice. The first time as a learning experience, the second time to teach English to the students at St. Bernadette’s School. While I’m not able to go back, for health reasons, Glenn and I sponsor the ministry’s yearly Walk for Hope in Haiti.

As well as being members of NAMGAR, we are members of NAMGBR and several local British car clubs including the Florida Suncoast MG Car Club, where both Glenn and I are officers. In addition to our 1962 MGA Mk II; we own a 1967 MGB GT, which both our daughters learned how to drive in; a 1966 MG 1100 four-door sedan; and a 1955 Jensen 541, which Glenn is in the process of restoring.

Keep those articles coming so Editor, Mike Tooke, and I can continue to turn out the award winning MGA! magazine.
