MGA World Record Speed Attempt at Bonneville - Cancelled Due to Weather Conditions (Again!)

Photo for MGA World Record Speed Attempt at Bonneville - Cancelled Due to Weather Conditions (Again!)

In December 2014, we reported on the super charged MGA that went to Bonneville that year. It was rained out.

Now the car is on its way back to Bonneville for record speed attempts between August 8th and August 14th.

The 1961 car has been upgraded, and the aim is to break the speed record for the "MG Modified Sports Car Class". The current record is 242mph, and was set in 1988. (Class change - see comment below).

The drivers are Colin Walker and David Chapman.

The NAMGAR Internet Coordinators will be on the salt at Bonneville in August, and will be reporting on the attempt later in the year.

NOTE - this event has been cancelled due to there being too much water on the lake.
