I purchased my 1960 MGA 1600 in October 1968 while I was attending college in upstate New York (Troy).  It had already been partially restored at that time and painted a British racing green with a black leather interior.  I drove it until the early 1970s when I purchased an MGB-GT.  However, I was never able to part with the A and put it into storage for many years.  By the 1990s I started taking the car apart and eventually had it down to the frame.  By 2000, I had a rolling frame with a completely rebuilt engine and transmission, new floor boards, all new wheel bearings, brakes, etc.  At the rate I was going, I figured I would never have a finished car, so I trailered it from New Jersey to Tuxedo, NY where there was an MG restoration shop.  They took the body panels down to metal and repainted to the original Chariot Red when the car was new.  The car has been registered and driven since 2003 and won 4th Place at GT-33 in Seven Springs, PA in the 1600 Class.  Attached is a picture of our wedding at the former estate of Oscar Hammerstein in Doylestown, PA in June 2009.
